Meeting Highlights

  • General Updates:

    • Joel Winarske shared updates on recent work and progress:

      • Ozone Platform Work:

        • Work on the Ozone platform (a Chromium platform layer) for Iva Home Screen has started.

        • Resolved issues with Chromium's dependency on ANGLE for the GPU stack.

        • ANGLE changes have been pushed upstream for Wayland support.

        • Testing of Ozone Demo across platforms is ongoing, with plans to abstract it into a "Mini Ozone" platform layer for Wayland and other platform support.

      • Flutter Updates:

        • Google has moved the Flutter engine into a mono-repo with the Flutter SDK.

        • Joel plans to update affected repositories (Flutter Engine Workspace, Automation, Meta Flutter) once the changes reach the stable channel.

        • Auto-roll processes will need adjustments due to these changes.

      • App Store Proof of Concept:

        • Awaiting feedback from Daniel regarding the app stream XML parser.

        • Joel plans to follow up with Marius if needed.

  • Release Planning:

    • Discussion on upcoming releases:

      • Salmon release planned for early next week.

      • Coordination with Yocto 5.0.6 release is required for testing and updates.

      • Testing activities for the next two weeks were outlined, including updates to AGL apps and smoke testing.

  • Confluence Editing Issues:

    • Walt Miner noted issues with editing documents in Confluence since the migration to the Atlassian-hosted version.

    • Joel confirmed he would update the App Store Proof of Concept document directly instead of using comments.

  • Chromium and Platform Support:

    • Joel explained the motivation for working with Chromium:

      • Enhancing platform support for Iva Home Screen across multiple platforms (e.g., Wayland, Mac, Windows).

      • Improving compatibility and reducing independent codebases for platform support.

      • Long-term goal to upstream Ozone platform work and integrate it into the Flutter engine.

  • Upcoming AGL All-Member Meeting:

    • Scheduled for the end of February in Tokyo.

    • Joel may attend depending on milestone alignment.

    • Plans to present a roadmap and updates on ongoing work, either in person or remotely.

  • AI-Generated Meeting Minutes:

    • Walt Miner shared progress on automating meeting minutes using AI agents.

    • He plans to update minutes for previous meetings and requested feedback from attendees.
